Case History: He is an orphan and the second last born in his family.Their only parent (mother) who was single died of Aids on August 2001. The uncle who has no source of income and had a family of six was unable to cater for him and the rest of the children. David and the other siblings were offered a vacancy at the home and he is now okay.

Case History: The mother died in 1997 leaving six children behind. The children had no one to look after them because the father used to work to provide for the family needs far away from home. The father due to his old age was unable to go on with the job. He came to stay with the children. The Aunt assisted him to get a vacancy at Huruma. David was extremely happy to be in the home he was feeling relieved.

Case History: His parents passed away and he was left under the care of his aged grandmother. His grandmother was unable to cater for him and he was referred to the Home by a distant relative.

Case History: He hails from Nkama Village in Loitokitok. He is the sixth born in a family of seven children. The orphans joined Huruma on September 1999, When he was five (5) years old together with his brother Robert Nginga and sister Miracle Njeri. They were referred to the home by their grandmother who is a widow and in old age.

Case History: She is an orphan and the last born in her family. Their only parent (mother) who was single died of Aids on August 2001. Born: 1999     Gender: Male

Case History: The child was brought to Huruma by the police of Ongata Rongai in 1999. The mother later came back and claimed him back and vowed to take care of him.. In the year 2000, his mother brought him back and abandoned him at the Home and left him with a letter, which we have till today.

Case History: She was abandoned at the Ngong Market and the members of the public were concerned and brought her to the Home. Nobody knows the whereabouts of her biological mother and she is still at the home.

Case History: He is the second born in a family of five (5). Their parents died on 2002/2003 and they were left under the care of their grandmother. She operates a stall in Kajiado market and cannot be able to sustain the five children. They were offered a vacancy in Huruma at the request of the Children's Officer Kajiado District.

Case History: Their mother used to work as a barmaid and one day she ran away and left the two children alone in the rented house she stayed in. the landlord later discovered the children were alone after three days when he went to take his rent. He contacted the police who responded and brought the children to the home. later their mother was caught and she is currently in police custody.

Case History: The above named child was rescued from a forced marriage to a 68 year old man by her elder brother. She hails from Magadi division and she has never gone to school and her father forcibly married her off as the third wife of the old man. Her brother, Moses, rescued her and looked for help from the local authorities. They later got in touch with Huruma and she was brought.

Case History: He and his brother were collected at Kibiko 'B' by a good Samaritan on 7th of January 2008 alone in the house. They were taken to the police and they were brought to the Home as the police take action against their mother for child abandonment.

Case History: Evon joined the home on 1999. There are no known relation that we know of . She was referred to Barnabas who later closed their home and brought Evon with another five siblings to us.

Case History: The sister to Winnie Wanjiku is in Huruma. They are orphans. When the mother died the father went underground. The grandmother has been catering for them. When she died the social worker working with the slum dwellers referred the children to us.

Case History: The mother died on May 1st 2001 of epilepsy. The children were left under the care of the father who was unable to care for them because of unemployment which led him to refer his children to Huruma.

Case History: After her mother left Faith and her siblings, her father began to sexually abuse her elder sister. The case was reported to the police who arrested the father, arraigned him in court and he was jailed for life and the children were referred to Huruma.
