Born: 1993 Gender: Female Case History: Janet was physically abused by her parents and was rescued by neighbors who reported the case to the police. The police rescued her and brought her to Huruma.

Jecinta Kavinya
Born: 1995 Gender: Female Case History: She was a class five pupil at Kamuyange Primary School and later dropped out of school at first term in 2005 after she developed a gaping wound on her leg and her parents refused any medical care due to their religious beliefs. The wound deteriorated and the leg was decomposing and the fear of it being amputated was quite evident. She was rescued by the area chief who took her to a hospital. The matter was reported to the Mwingi police and her father was arrested on the count of child neglect.

Born: 1997 Gender: Female Case History: Jecinta Wanjiru is the last born in a family of Seven brothers. They were all abandoned by their father because their mother has a mental Problem. They were referred to the home by a church minister.

Born: 2003 Gender: Male Case History: Their biological mother died of HIV aids and left him and his other siblings under the care of their grandmother who is too old to take care of them. due to this incapacity, the children were referred to the home by her.

John Kisoso
Born: 1992 Gender: Male Case History: He is an orphan who hails from Kitui. The grandmother who has been taking care of him and the elder brother is so old and has no source of income. Kisoso's health is not very okay. He suffers from persistent malaria and the grandmother finds it hard to meet his medication. the Auntie to Kisoso approached one of the SNV staff for assistance and was referred to Huruma.

Born: 1999 Gender: Male Case History: He was born in 1999 and sadly his mother passed away in 2002. he was left under the care of his grandmother whom he stayed with for two years then he was brought to Huruma on 2004. currently in the home, three of the children in the Home whom he can call auntie and uncle are currently residing in the home.

Johnny Baby
Born: 2005 Gender: Male Case History: The above named child was brought to the home by Sandra Wilson after she found him in Nairobi under the care of street girls who could no longer take care of him. The girls told Sandra that the boy was abandoned at Globe roundabout and Sandra sought help from Huruma and he is currently at the Home waiting for any news from the police on the whereabouts of the parents.

Jonathan Tench
Born: 2004 Gender: Male Case History: His biological parents passed away due to HIV and due to the stigma associated with the disease, his grandmother fed him only with boiled pea soup day by day. He became very weak and was later rescued and brought to the home. due to poor nutrition at such an early age he was very small for his age of 5 months. Very little is known about his background.

Born: 1995 Gender: Female Case History: She was left behind by her mother when she passed away in 2001 together with her sister. According to investigations her father used to abuse the sister and they were thus rescued and taken to New life mission. . The father is a drunkard who cannot take proper care of her children.

Born: 1996 Gender: Male Case History: His mother is mentally ill and the father died in a road accident. Josphat and his two brothers came to Huruma in 1997.

Kennedy Kariuki
Born: 1997 Gender: Male Case History: Kennedy was brought to Huruma because his mother is mentally unstable and is unable to take care of him. Kennedy had not gone to school and had to join kindergarten at an old age rather than the kindergarten age.

Born: 1997 Gender: Male Case History: The mother and father died of HIV/AIDS. He was abandoned in St Mary's hospital and later he was offered a vacancy in the home after been found in the hospital by the Director Mama Zipporah.

Born: 1996 Gender: Male Case History: His mother and father died and the grandfather could not help him for he is very old and drunkard. Lewis was referred to us by a Church sister.

Born: 2002 Gender: Male Case History: His mother passed away when he and his sister, Rhoda Nduta, were still very young and left under the care of their father. They lived at Kerarapon when their father started sexually molesting both children. the neighbours got hold of what was going on and they called the police who in response rescued the children and arrested their father.
