Moses Kereya

Born: 2007     Gender: Male

Case History: Moses and his other three siblings hail from Kajiado District. Their mother left the home after a domestic quarrel with their father leaving their elder sister aged ten years then, in charge of them. Their father sexually molested their sister and they were rescued and legal action taken against their father. They were later brought to Huruma for care and protection. A month after they arrived at the home, we came to know that Moses is deaf.

Born: 1994     Gender: Male

Case History: Moses is an orphan who had been living on the streets until when good Samaritans noticed him and informed us about him.

Naneye Tatiyia

Naneye Tatiyia

Born: 2002     Gender: Female

Case History: Her biological parents hailed from Magadi and they both passed away due to AIDS related illness and she was admitted to the hospital for a long time due to burns sustained from their burning house and none of her relatives wants anything to do with her. She was later referred to the Huruma by Magadi District Hospital through the Children's District Office.

Naomi Njoki

Born: 1996     Gender: Female

Case History: Both parents are victims of HIV/AIDS and the family has rejected Naomi and her sister, who were brought to us by the community.

Nehemiah Shikati

Nehemiah Shikati

Born: 1999     Gender: Male

Case History: His mother passes away in 1999 when he was only five years old and left with his younger sister under the care of his Uncle in Ngong. His Uncle got tired of taking care of them and took them to the police, who then brought them to Huruma, where they are till now.

Nicholas Gethi

Nicholas Gethi

Born: 1998     Gender: Male

Case History: His father left him with his mother and four other children. The mother later abandoned the children. The children's pictures were put on the Daily Nation whereupon Mama Zipporah saw them and brought them to the home to be cared for.

Nicholas Njoroge

Born: 1998     Gender: Male

Case History: Njoroge is deaf-mute. His mother died of HIV/AIDS during his infancy and because of stigma, and feeling very hopeless, the father roamed with him anywhere he went. He walked into the home and gave the baby to us after accepting that he is going to die.

Nicodemus Ochinjo

Born: 1997     Gender: Male

Case History: Nicodemus came to the Home aged 11 years as a result of child abuse. His parents seriously assaulted him, which led to the loss of one eye. The parents after the incidence went underground and the police are in pursuit of them. He was put under the protective custody of Huruma.

Born: 1999     Gender: Male

Case History: Ntimama and his other three siblings hail Central Division of Kajiado. Their mother left the home after a domestic quarrel, leaving them with the father who has been sexually molesting his 10 year old sister, who also used to take care of them. Therefore they were rescued and legal action was taken against their father and they were admitted to Huruma for care and protection.

Born: 1996     Gender: Male

Case History: The boy was collected in veterinary area on the 28/08/2007 by members of the public. The child was brought to Huruma for safe custody. Up to now nobody has claimed him.

Paul Maweu

Paul Maweu

Born: 1997     Gender: Male

Case History: Paul's mother was a victim of Domestic violence, which killed her when Paul was only three months old. He was referred to us with his two brothers but one drowned and died while the other was adopted by a Maasai family.

Paul Mureithi

Born: 1994     Gender: Male

Case History: The mother abandoned him together with his other three brothers. The uncle took them in but realized that he was unable to care for them and referred them all to Huruma.

Peninah Ndanu

Peninah Ndanu

Born: 2004     Gender: Female

Case History: The children lived with the mother, who was a single parent in Machakos. Her mother got TB and she passed away on 2006. The children lived with their grandmother, their mother's aunt, before they were taken to Good Samaritan Home in Mathare on 2007. Katungwa and Boniface were enrolled in Maragua Summit Boarding School. Katungwa fell ill and was brought to Huruma Children's Home on 2008.

Pesi Njue

Born: 1996     Gender: Female

Case History: Pesi and her other three siblings were brought by the children's department. Their mother left the home after a domestic quarrel leaving them under the care of the father. Pesi took over the role of her mother taking care of her young siblings and was constantly sexually molested by her father. She was rescued by the children's department and legal action was taken against their father and she is currently in Huruma getting care and protection.

Peter Gakuro

Peter Gakuro

Born: 1996     Gender: Male

Case History: Peter's single mother died of AIDS leaving behind five children to fend. The uncle was left to care for them but was unable to properly support them and his own family so he referred them to Huruma along with neighbors and the surrounding community.
