Welcome to the Huruma Family...

By Mama Zipporah – Founder/Director

We feel blessed and delighted this moment as we share with you what the Lord has been doing in our wonderful Home and lives during the month of October. We pray that you will be refreshed and blessed as you read through it. We hope you, our friends and partners will be joyful and glad as you read the news update. In this edition we have included news about the family, school and health.

The month has been quite busy especially in making sure that the new dormitories are finished and furnished for the boys to move in. Alot of work has been done which was to ensure that the children get a comfortable room. We thank God for providing for the funds because my desire is to give my children the best. The children are very excited about the new block in which they will soon occupy. We would like to thank all of you for any kind of assistance you have accorded Huruma Family.

In Huruma we appreciate the work all our staff do to help me in the ministry and this month all the workers went out for their annual retreat on the 19th of October and they had a lot of fun and it was a great day interacting with the staff and talking with them.

Home News and Sponsorship News…

By Anne Waithera

Once again I am humbled to have this opportunity to bring to your attention the news of yet another great month that the Lord has given us. We are glad that three of our children will be sitting for their final high school exam known as Kenya certificate of secondary school (K.C.S.E.). David Kariuki, Julius Karanja and Gabriel Njoroge are hoping for the best please keep them in your prayers as they sit for this important exam.

At the beginning of the month we had a biogas specialist who came to check and assess the area where the biogas will be situated, the project started shortly after the assessment and was completed at the end of the month of October and our prayer is that by the end of the year we will be able to use it domestically. We thank God that our dormitories are done and we hope the boys will move to their new dorms in the beginning of the month of November. Generally the home is doing fine and we are thankful for all of you who that have supported us in prayer and financially.

In Kenya we have a national holiday called Mashujaa day that celebrates the heroes who gave up all they had to ensure that we were a free country. During this time, all around the country there are gatherings to commemorate this day and our children were invited for one of these occasions where they sang and recited poems about this day. This is really important for the Home because the children are able to interact with the community and know that they are part of it.

We are grateful and happy to God because of His faithfulness throughout and are exited and happy for we have seen the end of the month of October which was a busy and blessed month. Earlier we sent a letter stating that we will be sending sponsors letters from their sponsor child once a month to assist in better communication and bonding between sponsor and child. We are grateful for all the sponsors who responded well and gave us information that helped us update the current sponsorship information and the communication has been awesome. This being a new department in the Home we will do all that we can to enable the sponsor to communicate well with the children
