| Huruma News Update March 2010 | |
Huruma family is delighted to present you with our Home newsletter for the month of March. We feel blessed and delighted this moment as we share with you what the Lord has been doing in our wonderful Home and our lives. We pray that you will be refreshed and blessed as you read through it. We hope our friends and partners will appreciate the news update. Here is another of our Huruma Newsletter. Blessings to you!! Love, Huruma Fraternity. Huruma Family (by: Mama Zipporah)I just want to thank you so much for standing and loving me and my children as we are. God is continuing to give me strength as l pursue my dream of rehabilitating and empowering children in need. I thank you for standing with me at this time when a lot of changes is taking place. It’s my prayer that you will not be tired but all I ask is that you continue praying for me. We go to court again on the 3rd of June 2010 when judgment will be given out. But whatever the outcome is, all l know is God is on the throne.
The children closed school and l have been home with them all this while. With the presence of a lot of youth around and the adolescent fever, it has not been easy but l thank God for the school is opening soon and at least l can have a break. You know during the holidays most of the teaching staff go on leave and l am left to work with one or three to help around with the children. This year we had to sit down and draw a plan of how to manage our children during the holidays when they are with me to ensure that they are not idle but occupied at all times with various activities.
Grace, our social worker and the head of the home had to come up with all sort of plans and they have truly worked. Infact, we found out that during the holidays children close up their education sense and they forget all they had been taught in school. To curb this problem we allocated time in the afternoon where they all sit in the dinning hall and they do their holiday homework. In the morning we allocated time for doing some reading for we have a lot of books in our library and we want to introduce them to a reading culture. The best part is that they wrote down what they read where it was marked by the teacher on duty. It is wonderful working with children. But pray for me as l currently face challenges of youth in our home. We love you and May God bless you abundantly. Home News (By: Sis Grace)The month of March was a blessed one and we give thanks to God Almighty who has provided for all our needs. Mostly for all the material gifts and care he has given to our home and the care and protection he has provided to all the members of the Huruma fraternity. The children’s health was satisfactory and no major issues were reported in the Home and this has taken the hand of God who has been our helper even in the hard times. For sure we cannot make any comparison as we continue counting our blessings one by one for we have a story to tell about the Lords doing.
I want to take this opportunity to thank our friends and partners both locally and internationally for their moral support and for their kind donations. Those who visited the Home as individuals or in groups from various organizations, may the Lord Almighty bless you for sowing generously. The Bible in the book of 2nd Corinthians reminds us about sowing generously for whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God blesses a cheerful giver. And He is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things and at all times; having all that you need, you will be abounding in every good work.
The weather in the month of March was favorable as it was raining through out. As a result, we continued enjoying a good harvest of green vegetables which supplemented a balanced diet for the children’s welfare and good health. Some sections which we harvested last month are due for the garden preparations which are scheduled when the school closes during the April holidays.
In conclusion the month was commendable and we give thanks to God Almighty and to our friends and partners who continue doing the right thing because it will gratify some people and astonish the rest. The Lord will continue providing for all your needs and May He also extend your territories. Be blessed as you read and see you next month!!
