Huruma Family
I feel blessed to have friends and partners who are standing with me all over the World. I feel strong know that somewhere somebody is praying for me. At this time when food is becoming dear, l do not know what l could have done. I always pray that God is going to bless you and remember you and your family as you have remembered us. I was out of the country for three weeks and l was happy to see my children whom l have raised with a lot of struggle running the home for the first time . When l left the food prices and petrol had just started to go up but the made with the budget l had left them with. It was also an eye opener to them because they came to know hard it is to be on the top. This Children were none than Moses , George and Pastor Jojo. You know our mission and our aim is raise readers and l am proud l can see leadership in them as their perform their daily duties.
While in overseas l was able to rest a bit and do something different from what I do and also l was able to spend a lot of time with .My eldest Daughter Caroline who just graduated with Master Degree in the University of in Arizona. Its my prayer with the education we have given her she will be able to impact her brothers and sisters in Huruma. I came back early June and within Two weeks a team of 17 missionaries from Cornerstone Church in Chandler followed me. Among them was Pastor Linn Winters and His wife whom we popularly have come to know as Mama Lisa. This time Pastor Linn took off his Mantle as Pastor and he said he came to serve as one of the builders for our new dormitories . Together with Jeff, Wes and Nathan thy brought down all the support wood which had been constructed to support our suspended dormitory floor. He was very involved with three days VBS for children aged from 13 years and below. I never imagined him a Sunday school teacher but he can God that Low and he Did it.
While here he was a invited guest of our Own Pastor Jojo so that he could talk to Pastors in Kenya. Pastor Jojo called Ignite Pastor in Kenya. For me l was so worried since I really did not know that l have raised Giants for he was able to bring more than 250 pastors from Ngong and Pastor Linn talked to them for three days and later even gave them certificates. I am humbled but l am yet to see. David Otieno who just Finished Moi University has gotten himself a marketing Job with Mumias Sugar Company. Sialo Just Got a job to with A , Moses who just Finished Kenya Polytechinic University has chosen to Work for Huruma .For the first time l was able to go to Masai Mara and you know l thought all the way animals will be everywhere. But the exiting news it that you have to look for them and l got my self very beautiful picture.
DORMITORIES PROGRESS
I am sitting down on my computer trying to come up with a thank you letter. I do not how l can write it for you have been so good to me and my children. You have been a blessing sent from the above. I do not know what l could have done without. I remember the day l cried my heart out for l had reached the end of the Road. Do you know all the volunteers , my children and my friends came behind me prayed and told me they will help me . From that day all this Friends and volunteers have been involved in one way or the other to fundraise for the building project. The school is almost finished for what is remaining is only 10%. And l believe if everyone who has promised gives what they promised the school and the first block of the dormitories children will be finished. Since then l would like to thank all of you who have come out in great way to raise our living standard. Please note this are the ones who came open and supported but for many others who only gave and kept quite. We shall never know who they are but l know my God knows each one of them and will reward them according to his riches in Glory.
Home News
The Month started at a low key being the month we were eagerly waiting for the court case to be determined on mid month .The guiding golden verses for this month as we started was Isaiah 3:10-11 “The righteous and the wicked shall be paid back for their deeds”.
To our friends all over the World , May God make all Grace Abound to you, so that in all things at all times having all that you need you will abound in every good work at all times. (2nd Corinthians 9:6-9.Special regards to our friends from Arizona. We have truly found friends, friends who have chosen to Love us and to take care of our needs. It’s a choice you have made and surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life. I believe alone we can do so little; But together we can do more. Let Love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Honour the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine (Proverbs 3).
I have a special prayer for all who have stood with us in different ways .Be it through prayers, financial support, moral support, spiritual guidance etc May you live long and May God guard your ways for he guards the course of the just and protects the ways of the faithful ones. HIS LOVE ENDURES FOREVER. As the singer sang ,we shall stand with our feet on the rock and lift the Lord on high and we shall walk through the darkest night setting our faces like flint, we will walk into the light; lifting the name of the Lord on high.
School News
The teachers and the students are working hand in hand to ensure that the objective of providing quality education is maintained to the latter. The students did the mid-term exam and are glad to say that their performance is encouraging e also visited Olkeri secondary school on 22-6-2011, whereby the students had a privilege of doing the Science practical and seeing the laboratory apparatus. We thank the administration for allowing us to visit that school
The clubs that we have in our school are all active. This term, we started a journalism club in collaboration with Mr. Moses Kabaiku.Currently we have five clubs, namely the journalism , the Science , the Agriculture , the Math Awana and the debate Club . All of them start at 4.10 pm on Wednesday. Cases of indiscipline have been minimized for this on going month with the help of the immediate school manager in our midst. Severe measures and stern warnings have been adhered to the latter, thus ensuring minimal cases of such unexpected cases here and there.
Three quarters of the pupils have developed the notion of working hard through the numerous exams that have been in progress and slightly, there has been a great involvement of study groups thus promising to yield good harvest in the end of the term. The private schools board sent out standard 5 & 6 exams that were done we still have to know the position we took.
The office of the manager has been of a great help to the school. The Manager who is none other than George our biological son who has offered to Manage the school as he pursues him Master degree in Business strategic planning. works hand in hand with the existing number of teachers to provide the best. We close the school on 4th of August and opening again on the 5th of September .
