Drilling a 284m bore-hole water bore hole or well funded by European union through Community Development Trust Fund donated towards the construction , Water Tanks: Construction of 2 giant water tanks which hold 170m³ of water, a pump house, installation of 3-phase electricity, a water kiosk and laying of water pipes funded by Ford Foundation. It was constructed with mud and wattle with cardboard partitions and mud floor. Through gracious donations it was re-constructed and now the Huruma family boasts of a basic kitchen, a dinning room and two big bedrooms, one for the boys and one for the girl, Baby room , stores , inside bathrooms (toilets) laundry room and food stores. With the arrival of electricity, telephone, water and transport the daily living has been made easier for the Kamau`s and their big family. The construction of the workshop by Lavington Women’s Association has provided a much needed space whereby the training in Maasai Beadwork, Computer Skills, tailoring and knitting can go on. Construction of a guest House is famously known as Elli’s Guest house is one of our completed projects and this house provides accommodation to the volunteers who come to help out in Huruma Children's Home.
